Making of Script

Making of Script   Everything starts with an idea. If, I want to make a show on "Psychological issues in youth" so that is actually my idea. Then I've to do research, planning, storyboarding and scripting. I will try my level best to contact with the professionals who are working in the field of psychology like doctors etc. When your research and planning is completed then you should make a script. PTC - Piece To Camera

 PTC: It is basically a "byline". PTC- Piece To Camera جب آپ کیمرے پر نظر رکھتے ہیں In TV journalism a "piece to camera" is when a reporter or a presenter speaks directly to the viewing audience through camera. PTC is used to establish a reporter's authority and credibility. Pieces to camera can also be used to get around a lack of pictures, or to demonstrate a piece of machinery or to highlight a specific location. PTC is an important part of news package. Types of PTC: - PTC Opening: A reporter do identification and then it is a voiceover - PTC Bridging: A content is different but the issue is same, actually a reporter bridges two issues and highlight them. - PTC Windup/Closeup: In this phase a reporter tells, e:g - Cameraman ABC, DEF News etc. But in talkshows it is totally different as it is called opening not a PTC.  Editorial: An editorial (US), leading or leader article (UK) is an article that is written by senior editorial person or a publisher of newspapers, magazine or any other written document, often unsigned. Many newspapers publish editorial without the name of leader writer. It shows the stance of newspaper organization. Editorial is not compiled by any individual infact it is a team work and that's why there is no name of the leader writer. It tackles current events and issues, and attempts to formulate viewpoints based on objective analysis of happenings and conflicting/contrary opinions. An editorial is predominantly about balance.

Definition of Newspaper Column

 Column: It is a recurring piece or an article in which the writers give their opinion in few columns allotted to them by a newspaper organisation. Columns are written by columnists. A vertical division of Newspaper page is also called column. Every newspaper page is divided into seven to eight columns not more then that. Columnist: Everyone can write a column but S/he will not be considered as a columnist because a columnist is a person who is registered with a specific newspaper organisation and write for them only. Many columnist write columns on daily basis and their columns are published regularly while some columns are published regular-interval.  Regular-interval means; published on a specific day like, each monday or it can be each sunday or each thursday. Definition of Feature

 Feature: Feature is a story (news) that is written by heart. It comes in the forms of Journalistic language. Feature is based on news but it is not fresh, it can be fresh. It has to meet no deadline. There is no objectivity in feature as it can be subjective. It is colorful and lengthy. As I've mentioned earlier that "feature is a story (news) that is written by heart" meaning; it contains personal feelings and thoughts. It is a dramatic writing in which you're actually highlighting an issue by representing yourself and your community. - Feature can be a documented proof against something.

Brief Definition of News Ticker

 Ticker: It is a one line statement that hardly contains ten to twelve words which can be seen in the lower third of a TV screen especially during news. - As a needle of wall clock moves in a round shape and makes a sound of "tick" same the ticker changes frequently with time. It is also called (slide, zipper and crawler). - It is called "zipper" because it moves from left to right.
